The main characters worked well in this film, played by Dane DeHann (2012 The Place Behind the Pines; 2014 The Amazing Spider-Man 2; and 2017 Valarian and the City of a Thousand Planets), Jason Issacs (2017-2018 Star Trek: Discovery tv series), and Mia Goth (2015's Everest and The Survivalist), and interesting theme of how humans caught up in the rat race of life, are ill and need a cure.
I did get confused which left me questioning some parts of the film, and felt that caused some serious short falls for me. It had me second guessing more than once, and left me trying to figure out the ending...which is not necessarily bad, but did leave me scratching my head in wonder, with a sketchy conclusion.
If that was the intent of the director (Gore Verbinski: 2002 the Ring; 2003, 2006, and 2007 Pirates of the Caribbean films; 2011 Rango; and 2013 The Lone Ranger) and the writer (Justine Haythe: 2008 Revolutionary Road; 2013 The Lone Ranger; and 2018 Red Sparrow), then they did their job well.
The eight minutes plus bonus has three deleted "Meditation" scenes of water, air and earth.

A really chilling and exiting horror movie. Surprised and still not understand the last part, but it is worth a shot to watch

yes, slow. but an interesting movie. there were some indicators of the kind of creepy ending that was coming. i'm glad it had an ending like that, otherwise it would have just been a creepy doctor in a creepy hospital

Very slow and not the best finish.

Intriguing and disturbing movie but a little too long and confusing in areas. Left me with some unanswered questions. There is some very beautiful and some very creepy imagery.

2.5 hours of slow, boring creep, followed by 15 minutes of "wait, what? this is like 4 movies worth of crazy visuals and backstory and character development and action and dystopian goth music video crammed in here. Such a good concept but such a poor execution.

Another example of learning the hard way regards researching a film's length. "The Cure for Wellness" rates 42% on rotten tomatoes which seems to be about right. Reminded me somewhat of the unlikely fusion of "The Ninth Configuration" and "Dracula". I imagine the lead had an ithcy sore leg from all that hobbling around in a plaster cast. Some interesting effects and cinematography (a reflecting train entering a tunnel). Avoid this movie if you have a fear of eels (anguillophobia?!)!

a very loooooong movie that has you HOPEING for more, settling for less, then wondering why you watched it in the first place at the end. Really quite a puzzling dilemma to decide if you want to invest your time.

This one is certainly a trip. I personally loved it. I watched it with my best friend (a longtime horror lover), her boyfriend (who is terrified of 90% of horror movies), my partner (who is 50/50 with anything spooky). We all enjoyed it for different reasons. It is incredibly atmospheric, creating one of the most quietly unnerving vibes I've seen in a long time. If you're into jump scares, this one isn't for you. It's a much slower pace than a lot of horror movies being churned out and that's definitely a welcome change. WARNING: there is a lot of body horror and a pretty intense scene with sexual assault for those who are sensitive to it.
