Following the death of his wife, Los Angeles police detective Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) becomes reckless and suicidal. When he is reassigned and partnered with Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover), Riggs immediately clashes with the older officer. Together they uncover a massive drug-trafficking ring. As they encounter increasingly dangerous situations, Riggs and Murtaugh begin to form a bond. Riggs' volatile behavior might just help them apprehend the criminals -- if it doesn't kill them both first.

it's a bit dated now, (movie came out 30 years ago), but I did enjoy it, it's been many years since I last watched it.

only thing I didn't like was the movie score/soundtrack, or more specifically the terrible saxophone playing during some scenes

Re: this version of the movie, the Director's Cut: No need to worry - it's virtually the same as the original. In fact, you may not even notice the changes. A couple of new scenes, that's about it. They don't add a whole lot - or take much away, thankfully. This is the same great movie it always was. An '80s action classic!

Lethal Weapon features a young Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Good 80s movie with action car chases and a little heart. Not for young viewers. Worth seeing at least once.

Ah yes, the 80s. The best cop movie ever.

The first and only good Lethal Weapon of the series. Action, great cop buddy storyline with younger, handsome as heck Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, crazy character acting by Gary Busey, great LA photography, terrific soundtrack music.Highly recommend at Holiday season, when it takes place-Mel, a widower, breaks out of despair.

Violent cop-buddy film. Interesting to watch it again knowing what we now know about Mel Gibson.
