The ending certainly isn't my favourite, but I'm notoriously hard on endings.

White Bodies isn't a fast-paced thriller in terms of plot, but is a quick character-led suspense novel voiced by one of modern literature's most insipid protagonist's. Many reviewers express their distaste for the narrator, Callie, I found her to be extremely interesting. Especially in the first half of the novel when her creepy, weird idiosyncrasies were revealed. It reminded me a bit of Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh, if only for her disturbed title character, Eileen, who like Callie has strange habits.

I can confidently recommend this for die hard mystery/thriller/suspense fans. It's a good book with an ending that I, abcDena, did not enjoy. That knocks a whole star off, so consider this a solid three-and-a-half-star read.

A psychological thriller with the twisted sisters Tilda and Callie, who wants to save her sister from a supposedly manipulative control freak of a husband. But something isn't right with Tilda or is Callie the weird one? Flashbacks to the sisters' childhoods gives the reader insights into their characters and possibly into what is about to happen.
My first psychological thriller and I enjoyed it,especially the dramatic ending.
