Shared Perspectives: The 1st EndoActive National Endometriosis Conference
Shared Perspectives is a unique educational resource for healthcare professionals and women with Endometriosis. Endo affects 1 in 10 women and girls. That's half a million in Australia. It causes severe pelvic pain, digestive disorders, problem periods, difficulty conceiving and even infertility. What is Endo and how do we treat it effectively? Recorded at The University of Sydney at the 1st EndoActive National Endometriosis Conference, this collection is 6 hours of essential, topical information from 14 Presenters on treatment, pain, surgery, fertility and other therapies to relieve the symptoms and effects of Endo. It aims to inform and enhance the practice of professionals and empower patients to understand and self-manage their complex disease. Special presentations from celebrated author Dame Hilary Mantel, Mia Freedman - founder of the digital publication Mamamia - and the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk as well as interviews with eleven young people suffering Endo make Shared Perspectives an intense, informative resource for both clinicians and health consumers. Shared Perspectives is the result of a dynamic collaboration between documentary filmmakers Rod and Lesley Freedman (Change Focus Media), their interviews with eleven young people who suffer Endo and scientists and doctors treating and researching Endo. It aims to inform and enhance the practice of healthcare professionals as well as to empower patients to understand and self-manage their complex disease.
