Isabelle McAvoy is a private art consultant who started her career as a curator in an important downtown gallery in New York. Now she has her own clients who range from famous collectors to the newly rich, hungry to buy to show off their wealth and impress their friends. Her career is soaring, but her private life is messier. She has three children, each with different fathers: dreamy Theo, fierce and resentful Xela and kindly Oona. Isabelle only wants health and happiness for her children, but life has a habit of making things hard. And as she navigates the loves and losses of her children, can she ever find happiness for herself?

For the first third of this book I thought, "How could Danielle Steel create a leading lady who is so naive and makes such bad life choices?" This part of the book talked about Isabelle's relationships which left her a single mother of three daughters. The next part of the book details how she survived and made a career for herself which was OK. The last part however reminded me why I still read Steel's book. All of the parts come together with Isabelle's 'mistakes' turning out to be blessings in disguise. She makes some good observations like Thanksgiving being less about gratefulness and more about food and football! All in all for the way it started the book turned out OK.

Another fantastic novel. An amazing story of 3 girls with 3 different fathers and 3 different personalities. A hard working mother who has her own busy working life in the art industry.
Isabelle been filled with losses and love in her lifetime. One very strong lady that meets ever challenge that comes her way. Definetly a book you will not want to put down until the end. Enjoy!!!

This author usually follows her rags to riches narrative, and I enjoyed her modernization of her heroine in this book. This character, a single mom with three children from different fathers, would normally be a judged, frowned upon woman, yet she was raised into an authentic successful character of today. And of course, she finds love, but again with a different type of leading man. Enjoyed.
