Very fun follow-up to 'The Secret History of the Pink Carnation', this time focused on the romance between the best friend and sister of the male protagonist from book 1. I continue to find the historical plotline way more interesting than the modern-day frame story (which I could honestly do without all together), but that's a minor quibble - lots of spies and intrigue, witty dialogue, and a very well-done example of the friends-to-lovers trope. Recommended for fans of historical romance.

We pick up with the parallel adventures and romances of the Pink Carnation and Eloise Kelly. Eloise continues to research and uncover information on the secret identity of the Pink Carnation, all while having an on again/off again flirtation with records owner Colin Selwick. Through her research we watch the romance between Henrietta and Miles develop as Henrietta comes into the sights of a dangerous French agent, the Black Tulip.

Another wonderful, squishy, fluffy "historical" romance from Lauren Willig. So good. So wonderful. A must for the romance fan.
