An accessible guide to building wealth the value investor way.

There are many ways to make money in today's market, but the one strategy that has truly proven itself over the long term is value investing. To make the most of this time-tested approach, investors must have a firm understanding of how value investing works. Author Christopher Browne has been a part of Tweedy, Browne Company-the oldest value-investing firm on Wall Street, which has previously counted Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett among its clients-for more than 30 years, and over the course of his career, he has successfully followed the value-oriented approach to investment management. Now, with The Little Book of Value Investing, he translates this wealth-building strategy in a way that everyone will understand. This follow-up to the national bestseller, The Little Book That Beats the Market (0-471-73306-7), introduces individual investors to the fundamentals of value investing-from the philosophy to the process-and shows them how to use this methodology to achieve exceptional returns in today's turbulent market. High-caliber value manager Christopher Browne discusses some of the most important methods, ideas, and approaches associated with value investing, including: buying stocks when they are on sale; never losing money; where to find value; how to find value and opportunity; when to hold and when to let go (including a 15-point checklist of things to look out for); long-term investing; and how to be a knowledgeable investor. Written in a friendly and easy-to-understand manner, The Little Book of Value Investing will show readers how to understand and implement one of the most effective investment strategies ever created.
