Dusty’s parents are going through a divorce and she receives a mysterious phone call from a boy who seems to know way more about her than he should. This boy starts showing up around town and the authorities seem really interested in talking to him. He’s interesting in other ways too: he’s as pale as snow (but not albino), of difficult-to-determine gender (yet everyone knows he’s a boy), and fades from photographs as soon as they’re taken. Paced like a movie, this book moves well and is suspenseful, but doesn’t quite hit the mark.
