DVD - 2004
Rate this:
Mary Mallon, better known as Typhoid Mary, was the first person in North America identified as a healthy carrier of typhoid fever. Interweaving biography and social history, this program tells Mary's story. Despite protesting her innocence, Mallon spent years incarcerated on an island in New York's East River. Her saga shows the emerging science of public health and the social, ethical, and legal dilemmas that it posed to its pioneers at the turn of the 20th century.
