Martha's Vineyard, New England. Adam Blaine returns to his childhood home to bury the father he despised. Here, reunited with his equally relieved and long-suffering family, he becomes aware of the suspicious circumstances surrounding his father's death. A death that, Adam will soon discover, is born of a long-hidden truth, and a chequered family history that may not be as black and white as he thought.

Complex storyline that is still easy to follow, which I think is indicative of a really good author. I look forward to the next two in this trilogy.

I liked this book. I listened on CD and really liked the storyline. Very complex lives involved. I liked the way it ended, even though justice was not completely served. I have not read Exile but will order it immediately!

This one was okay, but not nearly as good as Exile. Too much anger and meanness.

The BOOK was okay – but not one of my favorites.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. First book by this author I had read. Really kept the pages turning.

This is a bit of a departure but all in all a very good read. Complex, but well worth the ins-and-outs.

" love a good airplane novel, and Richard North Patterson is one of the best of the transatlantic-flight authors."
