This was a fantastic book, especially if you are a fan of historical fiction. Was reading it whilst my wife was in labour with a daughter that we then named Alexandra. That's how good it was!

Cameron's Alexander is a magnificent general who leads from the front and is the most ferocious fighter on Earth. But he is also a manipulative megalomaniac who believes his own propaganda, and whose ego is as big as his empire. A fascinating portrayal.
