I was blown away by this one from the very beginning, and although it didn't turn out to be exactly what I had been expecting from that opening (much darker, for one thing), this is a fabulous story of the late Classic era that shows how good the series could get in its latter days. Highlights include a rapping ringmaster, a conniving clown (with screen presence as remarkable and makeup as eye-catching as Heath Ledger's Joker), incredibly random side characters, the always fantastic Ace, and Sylvester McCoy on top form as the first Doctor I really fell for in the role.

One of my favorite episodes with one of my favorite Doctors & companions. Also has one of the scariest clowns i have ever seen. A lot of fun.
