Super bloody, awesome action, and a decent plot. I just thought this movie was pretty badass!

Science Fiction, fantasy, action and violence in yet another wasteland called America. I’ve seen this future and it doesn’t always work. Sometimes I get tired of wasting the United States. It was fun seeing Lena Headley (Cersai in Game of Thrones), but she’s still evil. I hope she gets some other performances so she’s not always so nasty.
Comic booky, simple dialogue. Olivia Thirlby was great as Anderson. Glad to see it, wouldn’t recommend it.

Hard R, ultra-violent. Dredd is judge, jury, and executioner in a hideous dystopian future. Dredd is incorruptible and relentless. An action movie that doesn’t pull any punches. Not an intellectual romp, just action.

Don't allow yourself to be put off by the 90's Stallone movie, this movie has very little in common with it. In fact, this version is a much better reflection of the source material, the Judge Dredd and 2000AD comics. Dredd is a solid dystopian sci-fi action movie that works best if you don't go in expecting anything. Be warned, the movie is less about Dredd himself than it is his partner, Judge Anderson, and the residents of Peach Trees. Dredd is there to keep the story moving and the bullets flying.

Those of us that were disappointed that a sequel was never made can check youtube for the animated miniseries followup 'Judge Dredd: Superfiend', done by Dredd's Executive Producer Adi Shankar.

It tries to do that bottle episode format that tv shows make use of, ie closed circumstances, which involves less settings and more focus on a short term scenario, without having to introduce new elements too often.
Also, a song from Matt Berry's Snuff Box is briefly heard in a scene, and that is about as good as it gets for your obscure references. I mean, I guess Judge Dredd is british and Snuff Box is british.

Despite being given powers of judge, jury, and executioner, the Judges are "losing control of the city" because of...reasons. But Dredd is on the case. I wasn't in a good mood for this film, and maybe didn't give it a fair chance, which is why I didn't rate it. I have no liking for vigilante films, and Dredd has a combination of sadism and prudery characteristic of the genre. For example, three men are skinned alive, and thrown off a building -- but still have their pants on, Whew! In fairness, it is also witty, well designed, well shot, and has some of the tense action of films like The Raid. Most fans of action or the comic will enjoy it, but for now, I couldn't finish it.

Good adaptation of the comic book " Judge Dredd " ( from 2000 AD )- although it doesn't maintain the humor evident throughout the comic- it is a competent action film in it's own right ( certainly better than the Sylvester Stallone version of Dredd ).

If you haven't seen this film, you're doing something wrong. Best 80's movie to come out in 2012.

Stellar. Just great great great. What a nice surprise. An action movie to rival the original Robocop. I loved not seeing the main characters face the whole time. Who takes such a role? And special effects were original.

Violence: Bodies being thrown from the 1000th floor and landing on the ground looking like something you get out of a can of Campbell’s tomato soup! LOTS of violence and blood.
