Fans of cozy and historical mysteries will enjoy this one! Very atmospheric in its setting of New York City in the late 1800s/early 1900s. Midwife Sarah Brandt and Sergeant Malloy, while an unlikely pair, team up to try to solve crimes. At a time when cops are corrupt and bribery/payoffs are common practice, Malloy works to solve the mystery on his own accord, even when others want the investigation to end.
