Great insight into Amy Winehouse's struggles with drug addiction and alcoholism as told by her father! He talks about Amy as a kid and how she broke into the music industry to become famous, just as she said she would when she was a kid. He exposes more of her tumultuous relationship with Blake Civil and Blake's parents. Great read for people who love Amy Winehouse or for those who just want to know more about what her life was like!

Just finished this book, Amy is gone to soon, she had many that wanted to help save her. There a few that wanted to help.destroy her. In the end even with all that support Amy didnt want to save herself. Very insightfull.

Started Dec 27.....was given this by a friend, thought I'd start reading it while waiting for "Two Solitudes" to come in at the library. Looks like an interesting read, although I didn't really know who Amy was before getting this book......Dec 30, on page 240, I am whizzing through this book, as it is an easy read, but not a very happy one. I will be glad when it is finished. What a nightmare for her father. Just goes to show that talent, fame and fortune certainly aren't everything. Although I guess the fortune part can really help if you are going through addictions like Amy did. Guess it really didn't help her in the end though......maybe just prolonged the agony? Anyway, not a feel good read! Finished Dec 31 2012

Her father would not give up on her. He had more faith in Amy than she had in herself.
She was addicted to this boyfriend/husband/ex of hers and this became her downfall.
RIP Amy!
Best wishes with all your hard work with Amy's Foundation Mr. & Mrs. Winehouse

As an Amy Winehouse fan, I found the book difficult to read as it was very repetitive.

I picked this book up at the library on a whim. There were some pictures and I thought they might be interesting to look at. I decided to start the book and was hooked. I was a big Amy Winehouse fan and felt bad that she died so young. Her father was very candid and honest about all her ordeals. He was always at her side and tried so hard to help her get over her addictions. It was a very interesting book but sad in that you knew how the book ended. Such a great talent lost too early. I do highly recommend this book.
