A terrific transition into the mainstream from mumblecore auteur Joe Swanberg.

If you love social tension, this is a must.

Bad movie - do not waste your time.

1) Open with a few scenes in which coworkers (a guy and girl who have significant others) flirt at work. *Let's make this heavy-handed so the audience 'gets it'.
2) Now show each of them in a scene with their significant others where they don't really "click" * pour on the unhappiness so our audience understands what we're going for here.
3) Create a situation in which our heroes can hook up. How do you do this? Ohh...."Hey, you go on a picnic with MY boyfriend while I drink and play card games with YOUR girlfriend -- what could possible happen?"
4) Won't reveal spoilers because movie was turned off.

I really enjoyed this film, clever, interesting characters, well paced. Explores the female/male relationship.

I thought this was a stupid movie - total waste of my time and reminded me why I don't watch Indie movies. I was drawn in by the title cast members. Don't bother watching.

A very real "slice of life" - not necessarily real in that it is a slice of your own life - but the characters are so natural with eachother, the personalities so individual, it feels like people you know - well. Dialogue and body language are very natural. Is that quality acting or skillful improv? or are they the same thing?
View this film with friends and lovers - what a great conversation over beers you'll have!
