"Mr. Simpson this is the most blatant case of fraudulent advertising since my suit against the film 'The Neverending Story.'"
If you were a kid in the 80s, it was a golden age for PG rated fantasy films. It was a crowded filed that included "Labyrinth," "The Dark Crystal," "Willow," "The Black Cauldron," "The Last Unicorn," and "Ladyhawke." The original "Neverending Story" hasn't quite endured as a piece of 80s nostalgia like "Labyrinth" or "Dark Crystal," but it's still a pretty good film, based on the book by Michael Ende (German title: Die Unendliche Geschichte). He wasn't happy with the film and tried to stop its production. This less loved and very inferior sequel is mostly based on the second half of the book. All of the cast save one actor is different and the acting is almost uniformly terrible. There are some decent visuals, but the fx are pretty mediocre. Stick with the original. Giorgio Moroder did the songs.
