This book was OK. Most of it was about the author, nails, hair, and fashion. Not a lot of it was about makeup. And the part that was really about makeup was for beginners.

Good for people who want to know a bit more about Michelle, for beginners in make up. Nothing extensive is given here.

If you're a beginner on fashion, makeup and stepping stones to get yourself out there in the world, this book is generally for the young and unaware. If you're already a beauty guru, this is not the book for you. I'd also like to note that all of what Michelle talks about in this book are on the internet and can easily be looked up. Some tips she provides are super simple and not very detailed at explaining. I found myself bored and not very interested in her book. However i do believe it will help out anyone who wants to get started right now on makeup. Also this book is all over the place when it comes to topics, so if you only want to learn about makeup, then this book has a pretty slim section of that. Be prepared when you go to read it.

This book is best suited to young people. It is more of a door-opener to makeup, skin care, as well as to career paths and etiquette. I think that people may have been disappointed in this book if they assumed it would just be about beauty and fashion. Although these subjects are more than half the book, it also deals with choosing a career, working in the online world, and Michelle’s personal experiences. The quality of the photographs were top-notch, absolutely lovely. Check this out if you want to learn more about Michelle Phan or about beauty, fashion, and the digital world. If you are more experienced in beauty and fashion you may find some of her tips basic, but a refresher is nice once in a while.

I really liked this book. It had some makeup tutorials ( but just one chapter, despite the title), it covered everything from hair to nails to dressing for your job, as well as etiquette. I do agree it could have focused more on makeup, because it is what made her famous, although it was nice to see her insight about things in life other than makeup, and it showed there's more to life that having perfect makeup or flawless hair. I would really recommend this for someone going off to college or applying for a job, because it has a lot of good advice on those subjects.

I expected it to talk about make up more. And give more instruction. Instead she just glazed over makeup and talked about a bunch of other subjects. Honestly unless you truly know NOTHING about makeup or skincare, this book will just bore you.

This is a wonderful book. I reccommend it to any girls in between in the ages of 11-30. Is very good for younger girls that are starting to get into makeup, and for women looking for career tips.
