Our program at Cleveland Public Library tomorrow relates to "Making a Mess" - we will make slime and bouncy balls. It helps to know the properties of the materials being used. Here is the American Chemical Society sheet on Borax: http://www.acs.org/content/dam/acsorg/about/governance/committees/chemicalsafety/safetypractices/clip-borax.pdf For the glue - we are using Elmer's school glue - which is described as a polymer polyvinyl acetate: Here are some descriptions for using the glue with various materials to create polymers: http://www.acs.org/content/acs/en/careers/whatchemistsdo/careers/polymer-chemistry.html http://www.acs.org/content/dam/acsorg/education/whatischemistry/scienceforkids/characteristicsofmaterials/polymers/goop-to-go.pdf About Elmer's® Products, Inc.
