A young Aboriginal girl is taken from the north of Australia and sent to an institution in the distant south. There, she slowly makes a new life for herself and, in the face of tragedy, finds strength in new friendships. Poignantly told from the child's perspective, Sister Heart affirms the power of family and kinship.

This is a very well writen book about a brave girl stolen from her family, her lifestyle and her home and finishes with a bittersweet ending. This was an excellent read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this well written book, that outlines the heart ache of separation and loss for a young Aboriginal girl and the friendships she forms in a government initiative to remove Aboriginal children and raise them in white society. A worthwhile story that delivers conviction, reflection and true identity.
