Katherine and Matthew are destined to be born again and again. Each time their presence changes history for the better, and each time, they fall hopelessly in love, only to be tragically separated. How many times can you lose the person you love? For Matthew and Katherine it is again and again, over and over, century after century. But why do they keep coming back? How many times must they die to save the world? What else must they achieve before they can be left to live and love in peace? Maybe the next together will be different.

I think this is the first time I've ever wanted a book to be a TV show and not a book. I did like the premise and the writing, and it was even funny at times, but the snapshots of time were so short that I never felt really immersed in the story. This was definitely action-packed, though-- it was event after event, and I think that the next installment will be a lot better. This one felt like a lot of setup and background information about the characters, and getting them to meet/contact/fall in love in each timeline got a little bit tiring. It was very episodic in format, and I loved the "documents" we got to see throughout, but it wasn't enough meat for a time-travel book for me.

This book was so easy to finish quickly because it was so interesting to read. I loved that the story progressed simultaneously throughout four different versions of Matthew and Katherine without being confusing and the ending was so good.
