Born in 1949 - Robert Allen Palmer was an English singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was known for his distinctive, soulful voice, and his eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining such genres as soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae, and blues.

Palmer's involvement in the music industry commenced in the 1960s, and covered four decades. He received a number of awards throughout his career, including two Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, and an MTV Video Music Award.

This "Very Best Of" CD contains 16 tracks in all which were recorded by Palmer (along with accompanying musicians) in the years from 1980-1997. (Be sure to watch "Johnny and Mary" music-video)

*Note* - In 2003 - Robert Palmer (53 at the time) died from a heart attack.
