Attending a birthday celebration for two young girls, Bea Abbot tries not to let superstition get the better of her when she realizes that there are thirteen people at dinner. I enjoyed this one more than some others in the series.

I sometimes wonder if the author Veronica Heley vents what she would really like to say through some of her more unpleasant characters, and what she would really like to do through her characters who bring about justice.
