In this deeply personal, rigorous, and riveting account, Dr. Cowan offers up a daring claim: Not only was Steiner correct that the heart is not a pump, but our understanding of heart disease--with its origins in the blood vessels--is completely wrong. And this gross misunderstanding, with its attendant medications and risky surgeries, is the reason heart disease remains the most common cause of death worldwide. In Human Heart, Cosmic Heart, Dr. Thomas Cowan presents a new way of understanding the body's most central organ. He offers a new look at what it means to be human and how we can best care for ourselves--and one another.

I really enjoyed this book. It's mostly written around a Rudolf Steiner quote that said there were 3 things mankind needed to do: Understand the heart was not a pump, neurons were not just synapses, and for people to stop working for money. Ok...but this is a health book.

The answers provided by the author were so thought provoking I still think about them months after reading the book. Not only did it explain the material in a cutting edge health way, I feel I was given a glimpse into a future path of medicine. The heart and chestahedron (He said the heart was a chestahedron, a kind of shape) explanation was so logical and step by step with examples, the fact that it was not non-sense and was such an advanced statement made 100 years ago from a man without access to modern medical information I was floored. It was something were only beginning to understand.

I am not only impressed with the authors ability to explain it all in an easy way, he tackled such deep lessons that I can't wait for more information like this.
Read This Book.

This is a great book on the current research into the hidden functions of the heart which science is only just beginning to understand. Things like neurites which can store memories just like a secondary brain, to the electromagnetic field emitted and received by the heart which is changing ideas about how we regulate our emotions around other people. Fascinating stuff.
